Dan Proulx Steps Down as Greater Vernon Chamber Manager

BREAKING: Dan Proulx, the esteemed general manager of the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce, is stepping down to pursue new opportunities. This significant transition was just announced, and Proulx’s last day will be on August 1, 2023.

Proulx has been a driving force for local businesses in Vernon for over a decade, serving as general manager for the past five years. His leadership has propelled the chamber to remarkable heights, including being recognized as one of the top 10 fastest-growing Chambers in Canada and surpassing 700 members.

In a heartfelt statement, Proulx expressed, “Serving as general manager has been the honour of a lifetime. I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished together.” His tenure saw the launch of an award-winning employee and entrepreneur attraction program with Work and Invest Vernon, as well as hosting record-breaking BA5 events. Proulx played a vital role in advocating for chamber members across all levels of government, leaving a lasting impact on the community.

Chamber president Kirndeep Nahal praised Proulx’s contributions, stating, “His leadership, innovative spirit, and deep care for our members and the community will be remembered.” Nahal emphasized that while the chamber is saddened by his departure, they are excited for what lies ahead. “The chamber’s board and staff remain deeply committed to our mission and our members,” she added.

To bid farewell to Proulx, a goodbye event is scheduled for August 1 at 4 p.m. at The Kal. Members of the community are encouraged to RSVP and join in celebrating Proulx’s achievements and contributions.

As the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce prepares for this transition, the board assures members that they are in capable hands. Proulx leaves with confidence that the chamber’s best days are still to come.
