Eileen Mae Clark, Beloved Community Member, Passes at 96

BREAKING: Eileen Mae Clark, a cherished figure in the Cranbrook community, has passed away peacefully at the age of 96. She died surrounded by family at Kootenay Street Village, where she enjoyed her later years, just days before her Celebration of Life scheduled for August 2, 2025, at 11 AM.
Eileen Clark’s life was marked by love, community involvement, and a deep appreciation for family. Born in Iron Springs, Alberta, she spent her early years in Bellview before returning to Barhill. Eileen’s journey through life included a rich tapestry of experiences as a devoted mother, grandmother, and active community member.
Her family, which includes daughters Alyson Ringstad and Leslie Milan, and sons Randy, Larry, and Darryl Clark, fondly remembers her as an enthusiastic supporter of their activities, from Brownies to hockey. Eileen was not just a participant but a leader, serving in numerous organizations, including the Eastern Star, where she rose to the position of Worthy Grand Matron in Cranbrook.
Eileen and her late husband, Ed Clark, shared a vibrant life filled with adventures, including road trips throughout British Columbia and Alberta, as well as travels to the Caribbean, Hawaii, and Europe. Eileen’s love for music shone brightly as a member of the United Church Choir and the Cranbrook Community Choir, even performing at Expo 86.
As news of her passing spreads, tributes are pouring in from those whose lives she touched with her infectious laughter and generous spirit. Her family plans to honor her legacy by encouraging donations to the Cranbrook Kimberley Hospice Society in lieu of flowers.
The Celebration of Life will take place at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook, where family and friends will gather to remember a woman who was truly a beacon of joy and kindness in her community. Eileen’s legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, and the countless lives she impacted.
Stay tuned for updates as the community comes together to celebrate the life of this remarkable woman.
