URGENT UPDATE: Nominations are officially open for the highly anticipated 30 Days for 30 Vets initiative, which aims to transform the homes of U.S. military veterans in the McHenry County area. Coordinated by The Bremer Team – Keller Williams Success Realty, this program is set to return in November 2023, with a staggering $200,000 worth of home improvement projects available to selected veterans.

In its inaugural year, the initiative successfully awarded over 34 home improvement projects to deserving veterans, all of whom were nominated by friends and family. Now, the community is called to action once again to nominate veterans and support the ongoing effort. To nominate a veteran, visit 30daysfor30vets.com and click on the “Nominate a Veteran” button.

The program is not just about nominations; home improvement retailers and contractors are urgently needed to participate. Professionals wishing to contribute can find more information on how to support the program by clicking “Donate” on the website or contacting Bremer directly at [email protected].

Each day in November, a veteran’s story will be highlighted on the program’s website and social media platforms, showcasing the human impact of this initiative. Last year’s projects included a new roof for U.S. Marine and Army veteran Mark McClaughry, and a kitchen remodel for Navy veteran Craig Taylor, a single father from Crystal Lake. Taylor’s teenage daughter also received baking supplies and a Kitchenaid stand mixer donated by Home Depot.

Dawn Bremer, owner and president of the Bremer Team, emphasized the importance of community support, stating, “None of this would have been possible without the incredible contractors who stepped up time after time. They didn’t just repair homes; they helped restore hope for these veterans, and that, to me, is irreplaceable.”

The current call for action seeks a variety of tradespeople and materials for projects, including small remodeling, painting, roofing, deck or ramp builds, HVAC upgrades, and window installations. Additionally, cleaning and junk removal services, furniture, decor, appliances, meals, gift cards, and self-care items are also needed. Financial contributions to support these efforts are highly encouraged.

“If you have a service, product, or skill, we can find a vet who needs it,” Bremer added. “Even one donation can change someone’s life. Let’s show up for those who showed up for us.”

This is a crucial moment for the community to rally behind its veterans. The nomination window is open now, and every contribution counts. Share this urgent call to action and help make a difference in the lives of those who served our country. For more details, visit 30daysfor30vets.com and get involved today!
