Milton Public Library Invites Fresh Takes on Fairytales

Milton Public Library has announced an exciting opportunity for local writers with its latest contest, titled the In Other Words adult writing contest. The theme, “Fractured Fairytales,” invites participants to breathe new life into classic stories by reimagining them with innovative perspectives, creative twists, or entirely new settings.
The contest is open to anyone aged 18 and over who lives or works in the Halton region. This initiative aims to engage the community in a creative exploration of well-known tales, encouraging writers to think outside the box and showcase their talent.
Entries can be submitted until September 14, with winners set to be announced on October 1. Participants may submit one entry in the contest. This provides an excellent platform for both seasoned and novice writers to share their unique narratives.
The library’s initiative reflects a growing trend in community engagement through literature, aiming to foster creativity while connecting individuals through the joy of storytelling. With no restrictions on creativity, the possibilities for innovative storytelling are vast, limited only by the imagination of the writers.
For those interested in contributing, detailed submission guidelines and further information can be found on the Milton Public Library’s official website. This contest not only offers a chance to win but also encourages community members to engage with literature in a new and exciting way.
