Ajax Man Charged in Child Luring Investigation Near Ottawa

An **Ajax** man has been charged following a child-luring investigation that originated in **Hawkesbury**, located east of **Ottawa**. The **Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)** reported that their Hawkesbury Detachment initiated the inquiry after receiving a complaint on **June 23, 2023**, regarding the transmission of “inappropriate content” to a teenage girl under the age of 16.

The investigation escalated swiftly as members of the **Hawkesbury OPP Crime Unit**, supported by local officers and personnel from the **Durham Regional Police Service**, travelled to Ajax. On **July 30, 2023**, they executed a search warrant, leading to the arrest of **Connor Lacourse**, aged 28.

Lacourse now faces multiple charges, including luring a person under 16 by means of telecommunication, invitation to sexual touching under 16 years of age, possession of child pornography, and the transmission of sexually explicit material to a person under 16.

Legal Proceedings and Next Steps

Following his arrest, Lacourse was released on conditions after a bail hearing. He is scheduled to make his next court appearance via video on **August 27, 2023**.
