The Building Industry and Land Development Alberta Association (BILD Alberta) has unveiled the finalists for the prestigious 2025 BILD Alberta Awards, setting the stage for a highly anticipated gala event on September 13, 2025. This annual ceremony celebrates excellence across various categories in Alberta’s home building and land development sectors.

Scott Fash, CEO of BILD Alberta, emphasized the significance of these awards, stating, “The BILD Alberta Awards highlight the incredible creativity, design and innovation our members bring to every project.” The awards recognize outstanding achievements in 40 categories, including new home construction, renovation, community development, energy efficiency, and safety leadership.

This year, the selection process was highly competitive, with over 430 submissions received, leading to a record number of entries. A panel of 100 industry professionals meticulously evaluated the submissions, resulting in the identification of 126 finalists. Notably, projects from Edmonton and Calgary dominated the nominations, with Edmonton securing 33 finalist nods and Calgary achieving 74.

Finalist Highlights and Categories

The awards showcase a diverse range of nominees across various project types. In the development category, Genesis Land garnered multiple nominations for its Lewiston project in Calgary’s northwest. This project is recognized for its grand opening, show home parade, and as a contender for Best New Community, alongside notable projects such as Cantiro’s Alces in Edmonton and Lamon Land’s Key Ranch in Calgary.

The Best Growing Community category saw entries from Brookfield Residential’s The Orchards in Edmonton, Dream’s Alpine Park in Calgary, and Bordeaux Developments’ Harmony project, reflecting the increasing commitment to innovative community planning.

Calgary-based companies dominated the renovation categories, with Rusch Design Build, Crafted Edge Homes, Melanson Homes and Renovations, and Reborn Renovations each securing three nominations. Ultimate Renovations and Vicky’s Homes from Edmonton stood out, each achieving five nominations, including recognition in the Renovator’s Choice category.

In the single-family category, Red Deer’s Sorento Homes received three nominations, while Lethbridge’s Stranville Living Master Builder earned recognition for its Hemsdale project. Projects from Medicine Hat also made their mark, with Wilde Homes receiving nominations for both its Ridge and Millington projects.

Industry Recognition and Upcoming Gala

The multi-family sector is witnessing fierce competition, with Jayman Built, StreetSide Developments, and Brookfield Residential earning multiple finalist positions. Leading the pack, Logel Homes excelled with five nominations across four categories.

Fash noted that Alberta’s housing market is thriving, stating, “With Alberta experiencing another year of record housing starts, this year’s finalists demonstrate our industry’s unwavering commitment to delivering a wide range of housing options for all Albertans.”

The winners of the coveted Pinnacle Awards will be announced during the gala, recognizing the most outstanding contributors and top performers in five categories: Small Volume Builder, Large Volume Builder, Multi-Family Builder, Renovator, and Developer. Last year’s winners included Jayman Built for Large Volume Builder and Multi-Family Builder, Colbray Homes as Small Volume Builder, and Ultimate Renovations for Renovator Pinnacle Award.

The BILD Alberta Awards ceremony will take place at the BILD Beyond Boundaries Conference in Banff, celebrating the achievements of those who significantly impact Alberta’s housing landscape. A complete list of finalists, along with a photo gallery, is available at bildalberta.ca.
