BILD Alberta Awards Unveils Finalists for 2025 Gala Celebration

The Building Industry and Land Development Alberta Association (BILD Alberta) has announced the finalists for the 2025 BILD Alberta Awards, setting the stage for an exciting gala event on September 13, 2025. This prestigious recognition celebrates creativity, design, and innovation within the province’s land development and home building sectors. According to Scott Fash, CEO of BILD Alberta, “The BILD Alberta Awards highlight the incredible creativity, design and innovation our members bring to every project.”
The awards honor excellence across 40 categories, which encompass new home construction, renovation, community development, energy efficiency, innovation, and safety leadership. This year’s selection process saw a record number of over 430 submissions, narrowed down to 126 finalists by a panel of 100 industry professionals.
Finalist Breakdown Across Alberta
The geographical distribution of the finalists illustrates a competitive landscape, with entries primarily from Edmonton and Calgary. Edmonton-based projects received 33 nominations, while Calgary projects garnered 74 nominations. Additionally, finalists from smaller Alberta towns included Red Deer with six nominations, Medicine Hat with four, Wainwright with two, and Lethbridge with one.
In the development category, Genesis Land stood out, receiving multiple nominations for its Lewiston project located in Calgary’s northwest, which includes nods for its grand opening and show home parade, as well as Best New Community. Other finalists in the Best New Community category include Cantiro’s Alces in Edmonton and Lamon Land’s Key Ranch in Calgary.
The Best Growing Community finalists featured Brookfield Residential’s The Orchards in Edmonton, alongside Alpine Park in Calgary by Dream, and Bordeaux Developments’ Harmony project.
Renovation Excellence and Pinnacle Awards
Calgary’s renovation sector showcased its strength with multiple contenders. Rusch Design Build, Crafted Edge Homes, Melanson Homes and Renovations, and Reborn Renovations each secured three nominations. Notably, Ultimate Renovations and Vicky’s Homes from Edmonton dominated the renovation categories, each claiming five nominations, which included the Renovator’s Choice category. Ultimate Renovations’ Urban Garden Luxe project and Vicky’s Homes’ Mid-Century Great Room project each earned significant recognition.
In the single-family category, projects from Sorento Homes in Red Deer and Stranville Living Master Builder in Lethbridge also received nominations, showcasing the diverse talents present across Alberta.
In the multi-family sector, Logel Homes led with five nominations across four categories, while both Jayman Built and StreetSide Developments earned four nominations each. Brookfield Residential received three nominations, demonstrating strong competition in this category.
As Alberta continues to experience record housing starts, Fash noted that this year’s finalists reflect the industry’s commitment to providing a wide range of housing options for all Albertans. The winners of the coveted Pinnacle Awards will be recognized for their leadership in design, safety, volunteerism, and customer satisfaction across five categories: Small Volume Builder, Large Volume Builder, Multi-Family Builder, Renovator, and Developer.
Last year’s Pinnacle Award winners included Jayman Built, which excelled as both Large Volume Builder and Multi-Family Builder, and Red Deer’s Colbray Homes, named Small Volume Builder. Ultimate Renovations earned the Renovator Pinnacle Award, while Brookfield Residential took home the Developer Pinnacle Award.
The BILD Alberta Awards gala, part of the BILD Beyond Boundaries Conference in Banff, promises to be a highlight of the industry calendar, celebrating the remarkable achievements within Alberta’s construction and development sectors.
