Tulameen Family Days: Thrilling Events and Fundraising Success

UPDATE: Tulameen Family Days just wrapped up with a spectacular weekend filled with fun and community spirit from August 1 to 3, 2023. The annual event, held in the scenic Similkameen Valley, drew crowds eager to celebrate and support local initiatives, including the Tulameen Fire Department.
The highlight of the weekend was the lively parade, a must-see spectacle that showcased the creativity and camaraderie of the community. Winners included: First place to the Cindrich Family with their “4 Seasons of Fun,” followed by the Crazy Canadian Cousins in second, and the Lawless Canadians taking third.
Throughout the three-day festival, attendees were treated to a variety of attractions, including special appearances by RCMP officers, BC Emergency Health Services crews, and the Princeton Fire Department. Notably, the Firesmart team and Ember the fox captivated families with engaging displays.
The weekend also featured an exciting duck race, raising crucial funds for the Tulameen Fire Department. Competitors Connor, Robyn Matwichuk, and Lizzy took the top three spots, adding a competitive edge to the festivities.
From a thrilling cake decorating contest to corn hole and slow pitch tournaments, the event was packed with activities. Festival-goers enjoyed a hearty beef barbecue and a delightful pancake breakfast, making it a weekend to remember.
Authorities report that the event not only fostered community spirit but also significantly bolstered local support for emergency services. “Tulameen Family Days is a celebration of our community and its resilience,” stated a representative from the Tulameen Fire Department.
As the sun set on this year’s festivities, local organizers are already looking ahead. Plans for next year’s event are underway, promising even more excitement for residents and visitors alike.
