For those with a technical background, CSIS is also hiring regional technical officers in Burnaby and other locations across Canada. This role requires problem-solving skills and expertise in fields such as cybersecurity, engineering, and physics. Candidates must possess a degree or a technologist diploma, along with several years of experience in areas like network troubleshooting or data analysis. The salary for this role ranges from $99,392 to $120,917, with applications closing on October 10, 2025.
Surveillance Officer Position
Another noteworthy opportunity is the surveillance officer position available in both Burnaby and Toronto. This role involves observation and monitoring to help safeguard national security, and it often requires travel. Applicants can qualify with either a college diploma or university degree and two years of experience, or with a high school diploma and four years of experience. A valid Canadian driver’s licence is also necessary for this position. The salary ranges from $77,427 to $94,177, along with a 12 percent allowance.
