TRT World Forum 2025 Concludes with Global Agenda Insights
The TRT World Forum 2025 concluded on November 1, 2025, after two days of discussions aimed at addressing pressing global issues under the theme “The Global Reset: From the Old Order to New Realities.” The event took place in Istanbul, Turkey, and attracted over 1,500 participants from various sectors, including policymakers, academics, and journalists from more than 30 countries.
This year’s forum featured nearly 150 speakers engaging in open and closed sessions that explored critical topics such as strategic autonomy, international law, and the evolving landscape of journalism. The mix of global perspectives provided a platform for proposing solutions to current challenges while fostering mutual understanding.
Key Discussions and Notable Speakers
Among the diverse range of sessions, discussions on “Contested Futures: Conflict and Reconciliation in East Africa,” and “The Ukraine Conflict: Diplomacy Amid the Fog of War” highlighted regional tensions and the search for resolutions. Other significant topics included “Cultural Diplomacy and Shared Identity in Central Asia” and “The Gulf Amid a Fragmenting Global Order.”
Opening remarks were delivered by prominent figures including President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Head of Communications Burhanettin Duran, and TRT Director General Mehmet Zahid Sobacı. The first day also featured a poignant tribute to journalists who lost their lives in conflict zones, particularly in Gaza. Six journalists presented Erdoğan with the press vests they wore while covering the situation there.
Noteworthy speakers included former leaders such as Djoomart Otorbaev, the former Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Humza Yousaf, the former First Minister of Scotland. Other distinguished participants were Ahmed Assaf, General Supervisor of Official Media of the State of Palestine, Abdulqawi Ahmed Yusuf, a former judge of the International Court of Justice, and Patrick Youssef, Regional Director for Africa at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The forum is recognized as one of the largest and most influential platforms within the global media sector. It serves as a critical venue for exchanging ideas and addressing the complexities of a rapidly changing world.
