Brandon University Wraps Up Fall Exams, Prepares for Holidays
Brandon University officially concluded its fall examination period today, with the final assessments taking place on campus. The university will commence its holiday break on December 22, 2025, and will reopen on January 5, 2026, offering winter orientation to incoming students. Most classes for the new semester are set to begin on January 6, with some Faculty of Education courses starting a day earlier.
During the holiday period, the Healthy Living Centre will maintain limited operations. It will be closed on key holidays, including Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day, with reduced hours on other days. For specific opening times, students and faculty are advised to visit HealthyLivingCentre.ca.
Upcoming Events at Assiniboine College
Assiniboine College is gearing up for an exciting start to the year with several notable events. Tickets are now available for the Ag Partnership Breakfast, taking place on January 18, 2026, during Manitoba Ag Days. This event will not only offer a hearty breakfast but also support financial awards for students enrolled in agricultural programs and related trades. Additionally, alumni are encouraged to reconnect at the Ag Mixer scheduled for January 21, 2026, as part of Manitoba Ag Days. While registration is not required, it is recommended to email [email protected] to express intent to attend.
The college will observe a closure from December 24, 2025, at noon until January 2, 2026, ensuring that staff and students can enjoy the holiday season. The administration extends warm holiday wishes and looks forward to welcoming everyone back in 2026.
Athletic activities at Brandon University will also take a break, with Canada West competitions resuming in January. The Bobcat basketball teams are set to return to the court on January 8 and 9, 2026, with home matches against the University of Winnipeg Wesmen at the Healthy Living Centre.
As the year ends, both institutions are focused on providing a supportive and engaging environment for students, emphasizing the importance of community and connection during the holiday season.
