Kishwaukee College Launches Spring 2026 Training Programs
Kishwaukee College is set to offer a diverse array of short-term training programs in the spring semester of 2026. These programs are designed to help participants either start a new career or enhance their skills through additional training. Classes will be available in person, online, and in hybrid formats, catering to various learning preferences.
The training courses will run from January 12 to April 24, 2026, with durations between 11 to 15 weeks. Each program is structured to provide valuable hands-on experience, and many include externship or clinical components. Participants are required to have internet and computer access for the online programs.
Spring 2026 Training Programs Overview
The following short-term training programs will be available this spring:
1. **Appliance Repair Technician**: Scheduled from January 13 to April 23, this in-person course will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 18:30 to 21:30 at Kishwaukee College. Students will learn to assist clients with household appliance installation, repairs, and troubleshooting.
2. **Dental Assistant**: Running from January 12 to April 10, this program combines online lectures with in-person practice. Classes will be held on Tuesdays from 18:00 to 21:00 in a local dental office. This course prepares students to work alongside dentists and dental hygienists, providing corrective and preventive dental care.
3. **Pharmacy Technician**: This online course will be available from January 12 to April 24. Pharmacy technicians play a crucial role in assisting pharmacists with dispensing medications and managing various pharmacy duties. Funding opportunities are available through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.
4. **Real Estate Broker Pre-License**: This online program will run from January 13 to March 5. Classes will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 18:00 to 21:00. Students will learn about real estate transactions, marketing properties, and ensuring legal compliance in the field.
5. **Sterile Processing Technician**: Available online from January 12 to April 17, this program equips students to support healthcare facilities. Technicians will learn to clean, decontaminate, assemble, process, sterilize, and distribute medical devices essential for patient care, especially during surgical procedures.
