North Island Menopause Conference Returns with Expert Insights
The North Island Menopause Conference is set to return to Campbell River on November 8, 2023, offering a full day of essential information and support for women navigating menopause. This second annual event will take place at the Campbell River Community Centre, building on the success of its inaugural gathering last year.
The conference aims to provide a platform for women to access accurate information and to connect with others experiencing similar transitions. According to Kathy Grayson, founder and executive director of the event, “Women deserve access to accurate information and the chance to find community with others experiencing the same transitions.” The gathering is designed to foster an inclusive environment where women can learn, share, and find support.
Expert Speakers and Engaging Workshops
This year’s keynote speaker is Shirley Weir, a notable author, podcast host, and founder of Menopause Chicks, one of North America’s prominent online communities focused on menopause education. For over a decade, Weir has been a leading advocate for women, breaking down stigma and providing reliable information on menopause.
In addition to Weir, the conference will feature a lineup of distinguished speakers, including Tanya Kessling, a registered physiotherapist and owner of Mend Bodyworks in Campbell River; Elisabeth Crisci, an award-winning medical doctor and director of Pacifica MD in Qualicum Beach; and Erin Roman, a registered dietitian specializing in the connection between nutrition and mental health.
The schedule includes both large-format talks and smaller, interactive workshops. Topics will cover a wide range of issues related to menopause, such as sleep problems, hormone therapy, exercise, mental health, and nutrition. Participants will have the opportunity to tailor their learning experience by choosing sessions that align with their individual interests and needs.
Access and Participation
Tickets for the conference are priced at $75, with options available for both in-person attendance and an online streaming service for select presentations. The online option will be accessible live and for a limited time after the event. Attendees can explore additional resources at booths featuring services and products related to women’s health.
The full schedule, speaker lineup, and ticket purchasing options can be found at nimenopause.com. Organizers are also seeking additional sponsors and vendors to enhance the event. For inquiries, interested parties can contact the event team via email at [email protected].
The North Island Menopause Conference represents an important step in empowering women to navigate menopause with confidence and support, marking a renewed commitment to enhancing women’s health and well-being in midlife.
