Northern Illinois CPR & First Aid Donates to Highland Elementary

On October 14, 2023, Northern Illinois CPR & First Aid announced a generous financial donation to Highland Elementary School aimed at enhancing the playground experience for students. The contribution will provide new equipment designed to promote physical activity and engage students during recess.
Enhancing Outdoor Activities for Students
The funds will enable Highland Elementary to purchase a variety of playground supplies, including sports balls, cornhole boards, and new soccer goals. These additions are intended to encourage cooperative games and creative play among students of all ages. Zach Oltmanns, owner of Northern Illinois CPR & First Aid, expressed his excitement about the donation, emphasizing the importance of both safety and play in child development.
“While our primary focus is on safety, we also understand the critical role that play has in a child’s development,” said Zach Oltmanns. “We are thrilled to support Highland Elementary in providing more opportunities for their students to be active, collaborate, and have fun. It’s a joy to know our contribution will lead to more smiles and healthier recess periods.”
The new equipment is expected to diversify the activities available to students, helping to alleviate congestion on existing playground structures. This enhancement aligns with the school’s commitment to fostering an engaging and supportive outdoor environment.
Positive Impact on Student Experience
Principal of Highland Elementary, Jacque Buchanan, expressed gratitude for the thoughtful donation, highlighting the significance of recess in the educational experience. “We are incredibly thankful for this thoughtful donation from Northern Illinois CPR & First Aid,” Buchanan stated. “Recess is a vital part of the school day. Having a variety of engaging equipment means every student, regardless of their interests, will find something fun to do. This gift will make a huge difference in enriching our students’ outdoor experience.”
The school plans to procure the new playground equipment promptly and integrate it into their recess activities over the coming weeks. This investment not only aims to improve student engagement but also fosters a healthier, more active lifestyle for the children.
