Sault Ste. Marie Summer Camp Launches Short Film Production
A new summer camp in Sault Ste. Marie will offer participants the chance to create a short film that will be showcased at the upcoming Sault Ste. Marie Film Festival. Scheduled from July 6 to July 10, 2024, the camp will take place daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Rusty Halo Productions, located at 40 Queen St. E.
The one-week program is designed for those aged 13 and older and will cover various aspects of filmmaking, including screenwriting, producing, directing, and editing. This hands-on experience aims to equip participants with essential skills while fostering creativity and collaboration.
The cost to enroll in the camp is $250, which is subject to service fees. Payment can be made through e-transfer to [email protected], or via cash or cheque.
Participants in the camp will not only gain valuable insights into the filmmaking process, but their completed short films will also be screened at the Sault Ste. Marie Film Festival, set to take place from November 27 to November 29, 2024. This opportunity provides a unique platform for young filmmakers to showcase their work to a wider audience.
With the growing interest in film production and storytelling among youth, the camp promises to be an engaging and educational experience for aspiring filmmakers in the region.
