Streator Public Library Unveils Exciting January Activities for All Ages
The Streator Public Library has announced a diverse range of programs scheduled for the week of January 5-10, 2024, aimed at engaging community members of all ages. From educational workshops to creative activities, the library offers something for everyone, ensuring a vibrant start to the new year.
Weekly Activities and Workshops
Throughout the week, ongoing activities will include a Pinecone Scavenger Hunt, where participants search the library for hidden themed items that change weekly. Additionally, the LEGO Club invites young builders aged five and under to join in on construction and creativity, though parental supervision is required.
On Monday, January 5, a Job Search Workshop will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. This session, facilitated by BEST Inc. and library staff, will cover essential topics such as online job searches, resume building, and interview techniques. Later that day, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., a Make It: TikTok workshop is scheduled for participants aged ten and older, focusing on creative expression through social media.
Tuesday offers an Afternoon Watercolor session from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. for older children, alongside a Pinecones Storytime for younger children aged five and under from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday features a Game Time event from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. for ages ten and older, followed by a Murder Mystery Meetup from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. designed for teens and adults.
On Thursday, January 8, the library hosts the Mother Goose Club from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. for toddlers aged four and under, and a Marble Run Extreme activity from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. for children aged eight and older. The evening concludes with an Evening Acrylic painting session from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. for ages ten and above.
Friday will feature Gabby’s Dollhouse Playtime from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. for children, providing an interactive experience themed around the popular show.
Finally, on Saturday, January 10, adults can participate in a Tech Tutorial on Google from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., helping to navigate the tools and features of this essential platform.
