University of Illinois Extension Hosts Agronomy Summit on Feb. 5
University of Illinois Extension is set to host its second annual Agronomy Summit on February 5, 2024, from 08:30 to 14:00 at the Illinois Valley Community College in Oglesby. This event aims to provide farmers and agricultural professionals with crucial updates on various topics including biologicals, nutrient management, and pesticide regulations that significantly impact farm management decisions.
Local Extension commercial agriculture educator, Emily Hansen, expressed enthusiasm about the return of the Agronomy Summit, stating, “We’re excited to be bringing back to Oglesby Agronomy Summit for its second year. This is a fantastic opportunity for both farmers and industry professionals to get the latest research updates from campus.”
The summit will feature sessions led by university and industry experts who will cover current agronomic research and practical tools for effective farm decision-making. Attendees can expect a comprehensive overview of new developments that could influence agricultural practices.
Registration for the event costs $30 and includes access to all presentations as well as lunch. Additionally, Certified Crop Advisor continuing education units will be available for participants.

This event in Oglesby is part of a broader series of Extension Agronomy Summits scheduled across the state throughout January and February. Other locations include Peoria, Fairfield, Freeport, Waterloo, Joliet, Springfield, and Marshall.
