Batavia Hosts Taylor Swift-Themed Lantern Walk on October 3
Batavia MainStreet is set to host a unique event, the Taylor Swift-themed Showgirl Lantern Walk, on October 3, 2023. This free community gathering will take place from 17:00 to 20:00 in downtown Batavia, Illinois. The event aims to blend shopping, music, and local spirit, inviting attendees to explore over 20 participating restaurants, studios, and shops along a lantern-lit trail.
As part of the festivities, guests can engage in a Taylor Swift Lyric Scavenger Hunt. This interactive activity challenges participants to locate hidden lyric clues throughout the area and match them with the correct songs. Those who complete the scavenger hunt can submit their answers for a chance to win a raffle basket filled with prizes generously donated by local businesses.
Kristen Desler, assistant director of Batavia MainStreet, emphasized the event’s goal of fostering community connections. “The Lantern Walk is all about creating community connections in a fun and magical way,” she stated. “Pairing the glow of lanterns with the energy of Taylor Swift fandom and the creativity of our local businesses makes for an evening that’s truly unforgettable.”
Batavia MainStreet is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the downtown area through community-focused programs and volunteer initiatives. The organization aims to promote local commerce and strengthen community ties.
