Ellis Hall Launches New Single ‘I Really Wanna See You Tonight’

R&B singer-songwriter Ellis Hall has released his latest single, “I Really Wanna See You Tonight.” The track reflects Hall’s journey as an artist and is a testament to his musical evolution since his time as the lead singer of the funk and soul band Tower of Power.
In discussing the creation of the new single, Hall credited the efforts of Don Smalls and his management team for their diligence. He also acknowledged the mastering work of the accomplished engineer known simply as Raymond. “The new single came out by the diligence of Don Smalls management, and yours truly hearing the song again and getting it mastered by the great master Artist Raymond,” Hall explained. He emphasized the collaborative nature of the project, stating, “Through our determination, we put all the pieces of the puzzle together, promotion, and the rest is history.”
Musical Inspirations and Future Plans
Hall expressed his philosophical approach to music, stating that he views himself as a vessel for creativity. “Knowing first of all that I am always the vessel all these things come through me and I have the choice to let it come through or to block it out,” he noted. He elaborated on his inspiration, saying, “It just seems to be always there with the flavor of always wanting to lift higher and higher like Jackie Wilson said. All I can say is my word for joyous ‘Chakalaka’ feeling amen.”
Looking ahead, Hall aims to engage audiences with his performances. He stated, “Playing for lots of people to get them dancing… Just let the feeling in and we all can clap our hands and stomp our feet in rhythm.” He highlighted the importance of authentic expression in his music, urging young artists to “Play or sing it like you mean it — simple as that.”
Navigating the Digital Age
Hall also shared his thoughts on the transition from analog to digital music, acknowledging the challenges and opportunities it presents. “I miss analog, but I learned as the digital age has come upon us… Don’t let the digital hang us up,” he remarked. He believes that both analog and digital formats have their place in modern music, stating, “It’s all there to be used in the most positive way; Hallelujah.”
In promoting his new single, Hall encourages artists to connect with their music on a deeper level. “Whether it’s an older song that’s been done before or a newer song that you might’ve created, always come from the inside out rather than the outside in,” he advised. “Celebrate it like you wrote it, and people will believe it’s your song.”
“I Really Wanna See You Tonight” is now available on Spotify and SoundCloud. For more updates on Ellis Hall and his music, fans can follow him on Instagram.
