Fraser Valley Record Fair Returns to Chilliwack on November 9
The Fraser Valley Record Fair is set to return for its third annual event in Chilliwack, British Columbia, on November 9, 2023. The fair will take place at the Princess Armouries building from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., bringing together music enthusiasts and collectors from across the region.
Event Highlights and Vendor Participation
Organized by local teachers Ryan Wugalter and Evan McDowell, the fair promises to be an exciting gathering of vinyl lovers. Since its inception in 2023, the event has gained popularity, showcasing a diverse range of items including vinyl records, CDs, DVDs, tapes, and music memorabilia. This year, 50 vendors are expected to participate, with a mix of individual sellers and established shops.
McDowell noted, “Some folks travel from as far as Kamloops and Vancouver Island, but we also feature local shops like Chilliwax Records. Both Ryan and I hand-pick the sellers to ensure a great variety.” This curated selection aims to enhance the shopping experience for attendees.
Collector’s Paradise and Affordable Finds
The fair has become a significant event for collectors, offering a chance to discover rare finds at below-market prices. Wugalter previously described the fair as “the best record store in town for one day only.” McDowell added, “For many collectors, the fair is a great opportunity for them to find that one gem they’ve been after for years.”
Attendees can look forward to numerous bargain records and CDs priced at $5 and under, making it an accessible event for both seasoned collectors and newcomers alike. Admission to the Fraser Valley Record Fair is set at a modest $2 at the door, making it easy for anyone to join in the celebration of music.
As the event approaches, Wugalter and McDowell anticipate their largest crowd yet, underscoring the growing interest in vinyl records and the community atmosphere fostered by the fair. With its blend of local charm and diverse offerings, the Fraser Valley Record Fair is poised to be a memorable experience for all who attend.
