Joliet Symphony Orchestra Launches Season with ‘Impassioned’ Concerts

The **Joliet Symphony Orchestra** is set to commence its **2025-26 season** with two performances titled “Impassioned.” The concerts will take place at the **Harold & Margaret Moser Performing Arts Center** at the **University of St. Francis** in Joliet on **September 27** at **19:00** and **September 28** at **16:00**.

Artistic director and conductor **Sean Paul Mills** will lead the orchestra through a vibrant program featuring works by esteemed composers **Giuseppe Verdi**, **David DeBoor Canfield**, and **Alexander Borodin**. The performance will highlight the lighthearted **“Nabucco Overture”** by Verdi, the thrilling **“Concerto after Gliere”** for alto saxophone and orchestra composed by Indiana-based **Canfield**, and the expansive **“Symphony No. 2 in B Minor”** by Borodin.

In addition to the musical performances, the orchestra will continue its popular series of free pre-concert discussions titled **“Noteworthy.”** These discussions will offer audience members insights into the featured composers, selections, and soloists. Scheduled **45 minutes** before each performance, attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with Mills and other guests, enhancing their concert experience.

Tickets for the performances are available through the **Joliet Symphony Orchestra** website at **jolietsymphonyorchestra.org**, the **Music at Moser** website at **stfrancis.edu/music-at-moser**, and at the venue one hour before each concert. Ticket prices are set at **$10** for adults, **$5** for seniors, alumni, and non-USF students, while **USF students**, music educators, and youth **18 and younger** can attend for free with a valid ID.

This season promises to deliver an enriching experience that showcases both classical masterpieces and contemporary compositions, appealing to a broad audience of music lovers in Joliet and beyond.
