Joliet Symphony Orchestra Presents “Fate & Destiny” Concert Series

The Joliet Symphony Orchestra is set to launch the second concert of its 21st season with an engaging program titled “Fate & Destiny.” Conducted by artistic director Sean Paul Mills, this concert will take place at the University of St. Francis on November 22 and 23, 2023, featuring renowned works by celebrated composers Hector Berlioz, Johannes Brahms, and Ludwig van Beethoven.

The program includes Berlioz’s vibrant “Hungarian March,” Brahms’ emotionally charged Double Concerto in A minor for violin, cello, and orchestra, and Beethoven’s renowned Symphony No. 5 in C minor. Highlighting the evening will be performances by soloists Rebekah Cope-Evers, on violin, and Patricia White, on cello.

Concert Details and Pre-Event Discussions

Performances are scheduled for 19:00 (7 p.m.) on Saturday, November 22, and 16:00 (4 p.m.) on Sunday, November 23, at the Sexton Auditorium within the Harold & Margaret Moser Performing Arts Center, located at 500 Wilcox St., Joliet. The orchestra continues its tradition of engaging the audience with a free pre-concert discussion series titled “Noteworthy.” These insightful sessions begin 45 minutes prior to each performance, offering attendees a chance to learn about the composers, the music, and the performers, as well as to engage with questions and discussions.

Tickets for the concerts can be purchased online at jolietsymphonyorchestra.org and stfrancis.edu/music-at-moser, or at the venue starting one hour before the concert begins. Ticket prices are set at $10 for adults, $5 for seniors, alumni, and non-USF students, while admission is free for current USF students, music educators with valid ID, and youth aged 18 and under.
