Meghan Reflects on Love for Harry and Life in the UK

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, opened up about her relationship with Prince Harry and her fond memories of living in the United Kingdom during the latest season of her Netflix show, “With Love, Meghan.” The second season premiered on Netflix on October 3, 2023, featuring Meghan, 44, in conversations with friends and celebrity guests while engaging in cooking and DIY projects.
In the third episode, Meghan shared a significant moment when she realized she loved Harry, recalling, “Yes. That was our third date.” She described their time together in Botswana, where they camped for five days. “You really get to know somebody when you’re in a little tent together,” she explained, adding a humorous touch about the wildlife outside, including elephants.
The conversation also touched on who expressed their love first. A smiling Meghan revealed, “He told me.” This level of comfort in their relationship was evident as Meghan and Harry now share light-hearted banter about each other. In episode eight, while speaking with Spanish chef José Andrés, she mentioned that Harry, whom she married in 2018, does not enjoy lobster. Andrés joked, “No way. And you married him?”
The couple resides in Montecito, California, with their two children, Prince Archie, aged 6, and Princess Lilibet, aged 4. During a segment on the show where she made aprons for her children, Meghan noted that “Lili loves pink” and described Archie as “the most tender, sweet, adorable child of all time.” She expressed her joy in motherhood, stating, “I always wanted to be a mom. I love it. It’s better than I even expected.” She recalled how, as a child, she saved her allowance to buy a real diaper bag for her doll.
Reflecting on her time in the UK, Meghan noted a nostalgic longing for the radio station “Magic.” She mentioned, “Honestly, one of the things I miss most about the UK is the radio station called ‘Magic,’” highlighting the personal connections she formed during her time there.
Meghan also reminisced about her acting career, sharing that she would treat herself to an apple pie from a McDonald’s drive-through after a successful audition. In an earlier episode, she told model Chrissy Teigen that she experienced nerves that made her face blotchy during auditions, leading her to wear turtlenecks exclusively for comfort.
The series showcases Meghan’s evolution from royal duties to her current life in the United States, where she has embraced her creativity and family life. The candid conversations and personal anecdotes offer viewers a glimpse into her experiences and the dynamics of her relationship with Harry. As they navigate their new life, Meghan’s reflections serve as a reminder of the changes and challenges they have faced since stepping back from royal responsibilities in 2020.
