Ottawa Charge Head Coach Carla MacLeod Reveals Breast Cancer Diagnosis
OTTAWA – Carla MacLeod, head coach of the Ottawa Charge, announced today that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The news was shared via the team’s social media accounts, where MacLeod expressed her determination to continue coaching despite the challenges ahead.
The 43-year-old coach described her diagnosis as “scary” but conveyed confidence in her ability to manage the situation, stating she intends to be present behind the bench as often as possible during the current season. The Ottawa Charge, competing in the Professional Women’s Hockey League, has started the season with a record of 1-1-0.
