Rick Mercer’s Comedy Tour Set for TV Debut on CBC
Rick Mercer is returning to television with a special broadcast of his “Stand-Up for Canada Comedy Tour.” The performance recorded in Saint John, New Brunswick, will air on CBC and CBC Gem. Production companies Bruce Hills Entertainment, Counterfeit Pictures, and Hemmings Films are set to announce the premiere date for “Stand Up for Canada Starring Rick Mercer” in the near future.
The one-hour special will feature additional performances by fellow comedians Sophie Buddle, Mayce Galoni, and Julie Kim, who have been accompanying Mercer on the tour. This extensive tour, covering 20 Canadian cities, began on September 11, 2025, in Saskatoon and will conclude in St. John’s, N.L., on October 15, 2025.
Mercer, known for his sharp wit and engaging style, expressed his desire to uplift Canadian spirits during his performances. In an interview with The Canadian Press, he noted that despite rising tensions with the United States, he aims to celebrate Canada through his comedy rather than diminish it.
