The prom committee at St. Bede Academy in Peru, Illinois, has initiated a poinsettia sale to fundraise for its upcoming 2026 prom. This seasonal effort aims to provide students with a memorable prom experience while offering beautiful plants to the community.

Orders for the poinsettias are now being accepted, with options available in striking red or elegant white. The six-inch pots are priced at $20, while seven-inch pots are available for $30. Customers can pay using cash or check, made payable to St. Bede Academy, noting “prom” in the memo line.

Ordering and Pickup Details

The deadline to place orders is set for December 1, 2023. Poinsettias will be available for pickup on December 3, 2023, from 16:00 to 19:00 at the academy’s Perino Science Center, located at 24 W. U.S. Highway 6, St. Bede Lane, Peru.

To place an order, interested individuals can email [email protected] or visit the academy’s website at st-bede.com.

Community Impact and Seasonal Joy

Abby Nambo, chair of the prom committee, expressed the motivation behind this initiative. “We wanted to offer something that brings joy to families during the Christmas season while supporting our prom fundraising efforts,” she stated in a news release. Nambo emphasized that the poinsettias are “gorgeous,” and each purchase contributes significantly to making the prom a reality for students.

This effort not only supports the school’s prom but also fosters community spirit, encouraging families to come together during the festive season. As the poinsettia sale continues, St. Bede Academy looks forward to brightening homes while preparing for a memorable celebration in 2026.
