Toni Collette Unveils Bold New Look at Toronto Film Festival

Toni Collette showcased a striking new appearance during the premiere of her film Wayward at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 10, 2025. The acclaimed Australian actress turned heads with her light blonde hair and dramatic outfit, marking a bold fashion statement on the red carpet.
The 52-year-old actress opted for a sheer floral top paired with a matching skirt, reflecting her unique sense of style. To complement her look, she accessorized with a gold clutch and strappy beige heels. Collette styled her hair in tight curls, sweeping them to one side, which added a touch of glamour to her overall appearance.
Career Highlights and Upcoming Projects
Collette, who gained fame with her breakout role in Muriel’s Wedding in 1994, continues to be a prominent figure in the film industry. Her performance in The Sixth Sense earned her an Oscar nomination, solidifying her status as a talented actress. Over the years, she has starred in notable films such as About a Boy, Little Miss Sunshine, and Knives Out.
Currently, she is featured in Mickey 17, directed by Bong Joon Ho, known for the critically acclaimed Parasite. In this new film, Collette stars alongside actors Naomi Ackie and Robert Pattinson. The plot follows an “expendable” member of a space mission who can be renewed with his memories intact after death. This concept allows for a unique exploration of identity and humanity in a science fiction setting.
Insights from the Director
At the festival, Bong Joon Ho provided insights into the film, explaining the connection to the source material. “It’s based on the novel Mickey 7, but we made it Mickey 17. The number indicates how many times the character dies,” he stated. “I kill him ten times more. It’s a story of a simple man, and while it is a sci-fi movie, it is fundamentally a human story.”
Collette’s appearance at the Toronto International Film Festival underscores her ongoing evolution as an actress and her ability to captivate audiences both on and off the screen. As she embraces new roles and styles, her fans eagerly anticipate her future projects.
In addition to her work in film, Collette has also recently been filming a top-secret project in London, further demonstrating her dedication to her craft and her continuous presence in the entertainment industry.
