The Building Industry and Land Development Alberta Association (BILD Alberta) has announced the finalists for the 2025 BILD Alberta Awards, setting the stage for an exciting gala event on September 13, 2025. This prestigious recognition celebrates creativity, design, and innovation within Alberta’s construction and renovation sectors. According to Scott Fash, CEO of BILD Alberta, the awards underscore the remarkable contributions of the association’s members across various projects.

Finalists were selected from a record total of over 430 submissions by a panel of 100 industry professionals. Ultimately, 126 finalists emerged, reflecting the high standards of work in the industry. The distribution of finalists primarily shows a strong presence from Edmonton and Calgary, with Edmonton securing 33 finalist nods and Calgary leading with 74.

Highlights from the Finalist List

Various projects from smaller Alberta centers also made notable contributions, with Red Deer, Medicine Hat, Wainwright, and Lethbridge earning six, four, two, and one finalist positions, respectively. This year, the competition appears particularly fierce, especially in the development sector. Notably, Genesis Land received multiple nods for its Lewiston project in Calgary’s northwest, which includes categories for Best New Community and the community’s grand opening.

In the Best New Community category, Cantiro’s Alces in Edmonton and Lamon Land’s Key Ranch in Calgary also received recognition. The finalists for the Best Growing Community category included projects from Brookfield Residential (The Orchards in Edmonton), Dream’s Alpine Park in Calgary, and Bordeaux Developments’ Harmony project.

The renovation categories were dominated by Calgary firms, with Rusch Design Build, Crafted Edge Homes, Melanson Homes and Renovations, and Reborn Renovations each receiving three nominations. Ultimate Renovations and Vicky’s Homes from Edmonton distinguished themselves with five nominations each, competing in various categories including Renovator’s Choice.

Competitive Spirit and Recognition

In the single-family home category, Red Deer’s Sorento Homes earned three nominations. Meanwhile, Medicine Hat’s Wilde Homes secured two finalist positions for its Ridge and Millington projects, while Lethbridge’s Stranville Living Master Builder received recognition for its Hemsdale project.

The multi-family sector showcases fierce competition with Jayman Built and StreetSide Developments each earning four finalist positions. Leading the pack is Logel Homes, which received five nominations across four categories.

Fash emphasized the significance of the awards amidst Alberta’s ongoing housing boom, stating, “This year’s finalists demonstrate our industry’s unwavering commitment to delivering a wide range of housing options for all Albertans.”

All finalists will compete for the highly sought-after Pinnacle Awards, which honor the most outstanding contributors in five categories: Small Volume Builder, Large Volume Builder, Multi-Family Builder, Renovator, and Developer. Winners will not only be recognized for their achievements but will also demonstrate leadership in design, safety, volunteerism, and customer satisfaction.

Last year, the Pinnacle Award for Large Volume Builder and Multi-Family Builder went to Jayman Built, while Colbray Homes from Red Deer was named Small Volume Builder. The Renovator Pinnacle Award was awarded to Ultimate Renovations, and Brookfield Residential took home the Developer Pinnacle Award.

The BILD Alberta Awards winners will be announced during a gala evening at the BILD Beyond Boundaries Conference in Banff. A complete list of finalists along with a photo gallery can be found at bildalberta.ca.
