CFIA Issues Urgent Recall of Pistachios in B.C. Due to Salmonella Risk

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has announced a recall of specific pistachio products in British Columbia due to potential contamination with Salmonella. This recall, issued on Friday, affects various sizes of Pistachio In-Shell Lime and Saffron, which were sold without labels, as well as Persian Style Pistachios with Saffron, identified by product codes #7081 and #7080.
The affected pistachios were on sale between September 5 and 19, 2025, for the unlabelled pistachios and from August 28 to October 11, 2025, for the Persian Style Pistachios. Despite the seriousness of the situation, no illnesses have been reported in connection with these products to date.
In light of the recall, consumers are advised not to consume the affected pistachios. Instead, they should return the products to the store where they were purchased or dispose of them safely. The CFIA recommends that anyone who believes they may have become ill after consuming these pistachios should contact their healthcare provider for guidance.
For further details and updates on the recall, individuals can visit the CFIA’s official website. The agency continues to monitor the situation closely to ensure the safety of consumers across Canada.
