Family and Friends Remember Wendy Elaine Michaud, 72, After Passing
Wendy Elaine Michaud, aged 72, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025, at the Sault Area Hospital. Surrounded by her loved ones, her family reflects on her courageous battle with ongoing illness, which she faced with remarkable strength and resilience.
Born on March 1, 1953, Wendy is remembered for her unwavering compassion and generosity. She leaves behind her beloved son, Rob Michaud (Jess), and cherished sisters, Janice Perkins of Florida and Frances Pickard (Yves) of Quebec. She was predeceased by her parents, Lillian and Teddy Davieaux, as well as her sister, Carol Tarchuck. Her extended family includes numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whose lives she enriched with her warmth.
Wendy’s legacy is one of love and enduring friendships. Known for her resourcefulness, she was always willing to lend a hand, whether it meant moving furniture or tackling home improvement projects. Her passion for carpentry was evident in the countless renovations she undertook, transforming spaces to reflect her evolving life.
Celebrating a Life Well-Lived
Christmas gatherings at Wendy’s home were unforgettable, marked by her impeccable decorations and festive spirit. Her competitive nature shone through during spirited games of washer toss, where her victories became the stuff of legend. The trophy she earned at Whispering Pines stands as a testament to her competitive spirit and joy in play.
Wendy found solace in nature, particularly during camping trips to Ranger Lake and stays at the Red Roof Inn on Whispering Pines. Later, she settled at Harmony Beach, where she embraced the beauty of her surroundings. Her love for the outdoors was only matched by her enjoyment of entertaining friends in her garage, playing pool, and sharing laughter.
In accordance with Wendy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Her family plans to hold a celebration of her life in early spring, filled with the love, laughter, and games she cherished. In lieu of flowers, they encourage donations to a charity of choice, honouring Wendy’s commitment to helping others.
The family expresses deep gratitude to the nurses and doctors at Sault Area Hospital for their compassionate care, ensuring Wendy’s final hours were comfortable.
