Fatal Head-On Collision on Highway 50 Claims One Life

A head-on collision on Highway 50 near Lac Leamy resulted in the death of a 60-year-old man on the afternoon of March 15, 2024. The accident occurred around noon when one vehicle reportedly lost control, crossed the median, and collided with another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction.
Emergency services quickly responded to the scene, and the injured driver was transported to a local hospital. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The second driver involved in the crash sustained only minor injuries.
Authorities from the Sûreté du Québec are conducting an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. As a precautionary measure, the highway was closed for several hours while the scene was secured and cleared.
