OSF HealthCare Hosts Community Health Navigation Session on Nov. 18
OSF HealthCare is set to hold an informative session titled “Get the Facts: Health Care Navigation and More” on November 18. The event will take place from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the Graves-Hume Public Library, located at 1401 W. Main St., Mendota. This session aims to assist community members in effectively navigating the health care system.
Participants will gain insights into maximizing their health care appointments and services. The session will address several key topics, including updated information regarding the upcoming cold and flu season vaccines. Understanding how provider availability affects wait times and appointment scheduling will also be discussed.
Understanding Health Care Roles and Scheduling
In addition to navigating appointments, attendees will learn about the roles of nurse practitioners and physician assistants in the health care landscape. These professionals play crucial roles in patient care, and understanding their functions can enhance patient experiences.
The session will further explain how to schedule various types of appointments, including those for chronic conditions, annual check-ups, and urgent same-day needs. By providing this valuable information, OSF HealthCare aims to empower community members to make informed decisions regarding their health care.
No prior registration is required to attend the session, making it accessible for all interested individuals. This initiative reflects OSF HealthCare’s commitment to enhancing community health literacy and improving patient engagement in the health care process.
