Third Suspect Charged in Barrhaven Shooting Death of Wilson Sabarros

Ottawa police have charged a third individual with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of Wilson Sabarros on January 10, 2025. Michael Journal Prest, 20, from Ottawa, is scheduled to appear in court on Saturday. This charge follows the arrests of Mia Tejada, 28, and Omar Assaad, 26, who were taken into custody shortly after the victim was discovered deceased at his residence.

The incident marked the first homicide of 2025 in the city. Officers responded to the scene on Pondhollow Way, a residential area in a well-regarded neighborhood near the intersection of Longfields Drive and Cambrian Road, at approximately 17:15 local time on that day. The police investigation quickly progressed, leading to the identification and arrest of the suspects involved.
