Toronto police are requesting assistance from the public in locating the family of an elderly woman, identified only as Maria, who was found in the city’s west end on the morning of August 19, 2023. The woman was discovered at approximately 04:00 near the intersection of Turner Road and Davenport Road. Authorities estimate her age to be around 88 years old.

Investigators report that Maria is unable to recall her home address or provide any contact details for family members or close acquaintances. Officers indicate that she primarily speaks Portuguese, which may complicate communication efforts in her search for family.

Maria is described as standing between five feet and five feet two inches tall, with a slim build, short grey hair, and blue eyes. At the time she was found, she was wearing a black cardigan sweater, black pants, and grey slippers.

In a bid to reconnect Maria with her loved ones, police have released an image of her. They hope that someone in the community may recognize her and provide vital information. Anyone with relevant details is encouraged to reach out to the Toronto Police Service.

This situation highlights the importance of community involvement in aiding vulnerable individuals. The police emphasize that any assistance from the public could be crucial in bringing Maria back to her family.
