Residents of DeKalb are invited to a festive crafting event at the DeKalb Public Library on December 11. Beginning at 5 p.m., attendees will have the opportunity to create their own gingerbread house boxes, perfect for storing small Christmas gifts. This engaging event will take place in the library’s 09 Creative makerspace, located at 309 Oak St.

Participants can expect to make more than just gingerbread house boxes. The event will also feature the creation of gingerbread layered ornaments and the decoration of a doll chain. Supplies such as pre-cut hats, bows, and candies will be provided, allowing attendees to express their creativity while enjoying the holiday spirit.

Due to limited space, participation will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested individuals are encouraged to arrive early to secure their spot. For additional information, attendees can reach out to Anna Smith via email at [email protected] or by calling 815-756-9568, extension 2851.

This event offers a unique opportunity for community members to engage in holiday crafting while connecting with others. The DeKalb Public Library continues to provide enriching experiences for residents, fostering creativity and community spirit during the festive season.
