Granville Library Welcomes Back Hobo the Reading Dog This Fall
The Granville branch of the Putnam County Public Library District will welcome back Hobo, a certified reading dog, as part of its popular Tales with Tails program this fall. This initiative provides children with the opportunity to practice reading aloud in a supportive environment, helping them build confidence and improve their literacy skills.
During the Tales with Tails sessions, children will read to Hobo, who serves as a calming presence. The program creates a nonjudgmental space where young readers can enjoy storytelling without the pressure that often accompanies reading in front of peers or adults. This unique approach not only enhances reading fluency but also fosters a love for books among participants.
The scheduled dates for the program include:
– Saturday, September 13, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.
– Tuesday, September 23, 2023, at 5:00 p.m.
– Saturday, October 11, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.
– Tuesday, October 28, 2023, at 5:00 p.m.
– Saturday, November 8, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.
All sessions will take place at the Granville branch, located at 214 S. McCoy St.. The Tales with Tails program is free and open to the public, making it accessible to all families interested in supporting their children’s literacy development.
