HMC Connections Joins 2025 Walk for Refuge to Aid Immigrant Families
The Halton Multicultural Council (HMC) Connections is set to participate in the 2025 Walk for Refuge on October 4, 2025, aiming to raise funds for local immigrant families facing challenges. This event, which will take place in Burlington, will feature walking routes of two-and-a-half and five kilometres, along with biking options of ten and twenty kilometres.
HMC Connections, a dedicated volunteer group fostering multicultural connections within the region, has set an ambitious goal of raising $20,000 through this fundraiser. The funds will directly support local immigrant and refugee families in need, helping to provide essential resources for those navigating settlement challenges.
Participation and Registration Details
While the specific location for the 2025 Walk for Refuge in Burlington is yet to be announced, residents interested in joining this charitable effort can register online prior to the event. There is no registration fee required to participate, but attendees are encouraged to contribute what they can to support the cause.
The walk and ride event not only offers participants a chance to engage in physical activity but also serves as a platform to raise awareness about the challenges faced by immigrant families in the community. HMC Connections invites individuals and families from all backgrounds to unite for this worthy cause.
As communities come together to support those in need, events like the Walk for Refuge highlight the importance of solidarity and compassion in building a more inclusive society. By participating, residents will not only contribute financially but also demonstrate their commitment to the well-being of their neighbours.
