The HMCS Venture in Esquimalt is set to host a Halloween haunted house on October 31, with all proceeds benefiting the National Defence Workplace Charitable Campaign (NDWCC). The event will take place from 17:00 to 21:30 in portables located at the intersection of Peters and Malvern Streets. Admission is suggested at a $5 donation.

Organizers designed the haunted house primarily for participants aged 10 and up, but they will accommodate younger children by adjusting the scare levels as needed, provided an adult accompanies them. This approach aims to create a family-friendly atmosphere while still delivering an exciting experience.

In addition to the thrills of the haunted house, visitors can purchase hot dogs and burgers. There will also be candy available for trick-or-treaters, making it a festive outing for families in the community.

The initiative not only aims to entertain but also to promote charitable giving, with all funds raised going to the NDWCC. This campaign supports various charitable organizations and initiatives, fostering a spirit of generosity within the community.

The HMCS Venture is well-known for its engagement with local residents, and this event continues that tradition. By hosting the haunted house, the naval establishment seeks to create a sense of community while supporting a worthy cause.

With Halloween approaching, this event offers a chance for families to enjoy a spooky evening while contributing to important charitable efforts. As the night unfolds, attendees can expect a mix of frights, fun, and community spirit.
