Kimberley Rotary Donates $1,100 to Support Local Trails Society
The Rotary Club of Kimberley made a significant contribution to the local community during its meeting on January 21, 2024. Rotarian Hans von Bloedau presented a cheque for $1,100 to Ryan McKenzie, the General Manager of the Kimberley Trails Society. This funding aims to support the society’s ongoing efforts to develop and maintain the extensive trail network in and around Kimberley.
Community Impact of the Kimberley Trails Society
The Kimberley Trails Society is composed of dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to enhance the trail experience for residents and visitors alike. Their initiatives include maintaining existing trails, improving accessibility, and protecting the natural environment. The trails serve as a vital resource for the community, catering to activities such as hiking, biking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.
Local residents and tourists benefit significantly from these trails, which offer recreational opportunities and contribute to Kimberley’s economy. As people flock to the area for outdoor activities, local businesses also see increased patronage, highlighting the economic importance of well-maintained trails.
According to McKenzie, the Kimberley Trails Society is committed to ensuring that the trail network remains a valuable asset for all. “Our volunteers put in countless hours to ensure that these trails are safe and enjoyable for everyone,” he stated. “This donation from the Rotary Club will help us continue our work and improve the trails even further.”
