Langley Mall Fundraises $25,000 for Local Charities This Holiday Season
The Willowbrook Shopping Centre in Langley is hosting two fundraising initiatives this holiday season aimed at supporting local charities. The center’s efforts include the return of its Charity Gift Wrap Centre, alongside the Golden Gift Chocolate Bars campaign, with a goal to raise $25,000 for community organizations.
The Charity Gift Wrap Centre offers shoppers the opportunity to have their gifts wrapped by dedicated volunteers from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Langley, an organization committed to mentoring local youth. This service will be available until December 24, 2023, and prices start at just $2 per package. All proceeds from this initiative will directly fund mentorship programs, ensuring that every dollar contributes to positive youth development in the region.
In addition to the gift wrapping, the Golden Gift Chocolate Bars initiative supports the Storehouse Community Hub Society, formerly known as the Cloverdale Community Kitchen. Shoppers can purchase these chocolate bars for $10 each at the concierge desk, located on the southeast side of the shopping center. Similar to the wrapping service, 100 percent of the proceeds will go towards the Storehouse’s various programs.
Nicole Lotz, the marketing director of Willowbrook, expressed pride in partnering with both charities this season. “This year’s holiday programs are all about spreading joy with purpose,” she stated. “Every Golden Gift Chocolate Bar purchased or present wrapped helps lift up local families and youth during a time of year when community care can make a real difference.”
Founded in 2011 as the Cloverdale Community Kitchen and re-established in 2025 as the Storehouse Community Hub Society, the organization offers a range of services, including food banks, community kitchens, mobile meals, and outreach programs across Cloverdale, Langley, White Rock, North Delta, and the broader Surrey area.
The Golden Gift Chocolate Bars not only serve as delightful stocking stuffers but also come with a fun twist. Each bar provides a one-in-six chance to win a Willowbrook gift card, with one grand prize of a $1,000 shopping spree available to a lucky buyer.
These initiatives exemplify how local businesses and organizations can come together to support their communities during the festive season. By participating in these programs, shoppers not only find unique gifts but also play a part in enhancing the lives of local residents.
