LaSalle Firefighters’ Toy Drive Aids 100 Families This Holiday Season
As the festive season approaches, the LaSalle Firefighters Association has successfully launched its annual Sparky’s Toy Drive, aiming to bring joy to children in need. This year’s campaign kicked off in November and has already made a significant impact, assisting approximately 100 families in the LaSalle community.
The initiative encourages residents to donate new, unwrapped toys, as well as gift cards and cash contributions, facilitating a magical Christmas morning for local children. “The community really rallied around us and helped make the drive a success,” stated Brian Bartlett from the LaSalle Firefighters Association. This collective effort highlights the spirit of giving and the importance of community support during the holiday season.
Donation boxes are strategically placed at various local businesses, which generously participate by collecting toys and monetary donations. The program relies heavily on the goodwill of these businesses and individuals, as well as the dedicated volunteers who manage registration, pick-up, packaging, and distribution efforts.
“Our volunteers put in countless hours to ensure that everything runs smoothly,” Bartlett added. “We want to thank all of the local businesses that stepped up. We couldn’t do it without them.” The success of Sparky’s Toy Drive underscores the commitment of the LaSalle community to support families facing challenges during the holidays.
The LaSalle Firefighters Association continues to encourage residents to contribute to this heartwarming cause, emphasizing that every donation counts. As the campaign progresses, the hope is to surpass last year’s achievements, further extending the reach of this charitable initiative and ensuring that more children can experience the joy of the holiday season.
With the support of local residents and businesses, the LaSalle Firefighters Association remains steadfast in its mission to enhance the lives of those in need, fostering a sense of community and compassion during this special time of year.
