Peachland Fall Fair Celebrates 106 Years with Community Spirit

The annual **Peachland Fall Fair** took place from **September 5 to 7, 2023**, at the **Peachland Community Centre**, marking a significant milestone of **106 years** since its inception. This year’s theme, “Plant a Seed,” encouraged attendees to engage in various creative activities, including baking, preserving, knitting, and photography.
According to the event organizers, the fair aims to foster community spirit and creativity. “We invite everyone to plant seeds of creativity and nurture them,” they stated. The first Peachland Fall Fair was established in **1919**, and thanks to the tireless efforts of dedicated community volunteers and sponsors, it has remained a cherished tradition.
The organizers also highlighted the fair’s nostalgic atmosphere, reminiscent of an old-fashioned country fair nestled in the heart of downtown Peachland. “This September event was not to be missed,” they emphasized, reflecting on the fair’s importance to the community.
One of the standout features of this year’s event was the introduction of the **Zucchini 500 Car Race**. Participants of all ages were invited to design and race their own zucchini cars down a specially constructed track. This fun addition aimed to engage families and promote creativity among the younger generations.
In a competitive spirit, the heaviest squash prize went to **Kerry Pruden**, who claimed victory with a remarkable pumpkin weighing **104.2 pounds**. This competition not only showcased local gardening talents but also added an element of excitement to the fair.
As the Peachland Fall Fair looks towards the future, the hope is to continue this beloved tradition for another **100 years**. The event serves as a testament to the community’s dedication and the importance of connection through shared experiences. The organizers expressed gratitude for everyone who participated and contributed to making this year’s fair a success, reaffirming the event’s role in fostering community bonds and celebrating local culture.
