The Sault Ste. Marie Public Library has initiated its fifth annual Giving Tree program, aimed at providing warmth to those in need this winter. From now until December 30, 2025, individuals can access free winter accessories, including gloves, hats, and scarves, at both the James L. McIntyre Centennial Library and the North Branch. This effort is designed to support community members who may struggle to stay warm during the colder months.

Participants can take what they need without any questions asked, ensuring that the program is accessible to everyone. The initiative runs while supplies last, encouraging quick participation. In addition to providing items, the library invites community members to contribute by donating new or gently used winter accessories. Donations can be made at either library location, fostering a sense of community support and collaboration.

Supporting Local Needs

Any items that remain unclaimed by the end of the program will be donated to local shelters and organizations, further extending the reach of this initiative. This approach not only helps individuals directly but also strengthens ties within the community by promoting giving and sharing.

For further details about the program or to inquire about donations, individuals can contact the Circulation Department at 705-759-5242. The library emphasizes its commitment to ensuring that no one in the community goes without essential winter gear during this season.

Through the Giving Tree program, the Sault Ste. Marie Public Library is not just a place for books, but a hub of community support, working to keep everyone warm this winter.
