1. La Roca: A Fine Dining Experience
Located in downtown Winnipeg, La Roca stands out as the city’s premier fine dining Mexican restaurant. With a commitment to authenticity, the restaurant prepares everything in-house daily, from salsas and marinades to tortillas and guacamole. Owner Kishan Zalawadai emphasizes that “we want every bite to reflect the care we put into it.”
Signature dishes such as sizzling chicken fajitas and handmade churros keep patrons returning. The two-level patio creates a festive atmosphere, enhanced by weekly events like Taco Tuesdays and live music from Thursday to Saturday. La Roca also accommodates private events, with a capacity of up to 250 seated guests.
Located at 155 Smith St., La Roca has generated significant goodwill among locals, earning its status as Winnipeg’s number one Latin American restaurant.
2. Mercadito Latino: A Family Affair
In the West End, Mercadito Latino offers authentic Salvadoran and Central American cuisine. This family-run establishment has been a staple since 2011, led by owner Sonia Aguillon, who prepares each dish with care, and her husband Julian Lemus, who provides warm service.
