Langley City Invites Residents to Shape Future Through Advisory Committees
Langley City is opening applications for residents to join its advisory committees, which provide essential recommendations to the City Council. These committees play a critical role in shaping various programs, policies, and services by advising on specific matters referred to them.
Each committee operates under a defined mandate, with members drawn from diverse backgrounds, including local residents and representatives from organizations such as the school board, chamber of commerce, and environmental groups. Typically, a council member serves as the chair and co-chair, while City staff attend meetings to offer insights into operations, bylaws, and policies.
Applications are currently being accepted for the 2026 Advisory Committees, with a deadline of January 9, 2026. Individuals from all walks of life are encouraged to apply, bringing varying ages, backgrounds, and experiences to the table. Applicants may submit their names for up to two committees and are required to outline their relevant experience, training, certifications, or education, as well as their motivations for serving.
