Lethbridge Police Charge Man in Multiple Sexual Assault Cases
The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) has announced additional charges against Landon Byron Kern Waters, 37, following reports from multiple alleged victims of sexual assault. The police investigation, which began in May 2025, was prompted by a social media post revealing claims from several women who alleged they had been assaulted by the same individual.
An initial report surfaced when a 35-year-old woman contacted police, detailing an incident that took place in April 2019. According to her account, she had visited the home of a male acquaintance and accepted a drink. She later became unwell and was sexually assaulted. This incident had not been reported previously. Since that time, authorities have identified three additional victims with allegations spanning from 2009 to 2022.
As a result of these findings, Waters now faces three counts of sexual assault, two counts of assault with a weapon, and two counts of administering a drug to overcome resistance. These charges build upon an earlier count of sexual assault that was filed in June 2025.
Ongoing Investigation and Community Impact
Waters has been released from custody and is expected to appear in court on August 26, 2025. The Lethbridge Police Service is actively encouraging anyone who has experienced similar victimization or possesses information relevant to the investigation to reach out. Interested individuals can contact LPS at 403-328-4444 and reference file number 25052933.
The police believe that there may be additional victims who have yet to come forward. The ongoing investigation highlights the importance of community awareness and support for those affected by sexual violence. As more information comes to light, law enforcement aims to ensure that all allegations are thoroughly investigated and that justice is served.
The Lethbridge community is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or information that could assist in this case. The LPS continues to prioritize the safety and well-being of its residents while addressing these serious allegations.
