Ottawa Resident Charlie Mitchell Launches Bid for County Clerk
Charlie Mitchell, a lifelong resident of La Salle County, announced on March 15, 2024 his candidacy for the position of La Salle County Clerk as a member of the Democratic Party. Mitchell, who resides in Ottawa, brings over 25 years of experience in election operations, having worked with county and union election teams throughout Illinois and across the United States.
In his announcement, Mitchell expressed his deep connection to the community, stating, “La Salle County is home for me. I grew up here. My family is here. I care deeply about the people who live and work in our communities.” He highlighted the essential functions of the Clerk’s Office, which include managing vital records and licensing, as well as ensuring that elections are organized, fair, and transparent.

Mitchell emphasized his belief that every resident should feel respected and well-served when they engage with the Clerk’s Office.
