Police Investigate Two Separate Stabbings in East Village
Two separate stabbings took place in the East Village late on Thursday, March 14, 2024, prompting a police investigation. Officers responded to reports of the incidents, which occurred within close proximity to each other.
The first stabbing happened near the Drop-In Centre, resulting in serious, life-threatening injuries to one individual. Emergency services transported the victim to a local hospital, where their condition has since been reported as serious but stable.
Shortly after the initial incident, authorities received a second report of a stabbing on the 400 block of 6 Ave S.E.. As of now, the police have not disclosed the condition of the victim from this incident.
