Engineering Innovations with Measurable Impact

Srivastava’s engineering initiatives represent a convergence of automation, cybersecurity, and user-friendly design. She was instrumental in creating the Help a Hero Crowdfunding Platform, which has successfully generated over $5.68 million for public safety initiatives. This platform includes AI-assisted fraud detection and automated financial workflows designed to minimize manual errors and increase accuracy.

Moreover, Srivastava has fortified NEP’s security framework, implementing tools that protect over $9 million in annual digital donations. Her custom-built fraud detection model has resulted in a 23 percent reduction in donation fraud, positioning NEP Services as a leader in the nonprofit technology space. Having begun her career at Capgemini developing enterprise-level systems, Srivastava joined NEP Services in 2017 and ascended to the role of CTO in 2024. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from SRM University in Chennai and a Master’s in Computer Science from California State University, Long Beach.

As regulators impose stricter rules regarding donor privacy and data usage, Srivastava ensures that compliance is central to the design of all NEP platforms. Her latest project involves backend tools for the First Responder Processing platform, which facilitates donation reconciliation and compliance reporting for 501(c)(3) organizations. These tools manage every aspect from donation intake to secure communication logs.

“The goal is to design systems that interpret context while honoring each organization’s structure,” Srivastava explains. “Strong prediction means more than accuracy. It must be ethical, informed, and aligned with real operations.”

Recently, she introduced two proprietary systems aligned with NEP’s automation roadmap—one focusing on secure workflow optimization and the other on adaptive donor analytics. Both systems are currently being implemented with select nonprofit clients, showcasing NEP’s commitment to leading the charge in intelligent automation.

Looking ahead, Srivastava plans to further integrate predictive tools into donation platforms and improve the accessibility of natural-language interfaces for nonprofit clients. “The platform was architected to be efficient at every step, from initiating a campaign to donor engagement to compliant payout,” she notes.

Through her engineering work, Srivastava is not only advancing technology for nonprofits but is also advocating for emerging voices in the tech community. Her leadership has been recognized nationally, including serving as a judge for the Timmy Awards in 2024 and contributing to NEP’s recognition as one of North America’s most innovative companies by Fast Company. These accolades highlight her commitment to building smarter systems and fostering inclusive tech communities.
