BCHL Showcase Returns with Exciting Matchups in Abbotsford
The British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) is set to host its Showcase event in Abbotsford and Chilliwack from October 12 to October 16, 2025. This year’s edition will see most games played at the Abbotsford Centre, which will feature four of the five days of competition, while the Chilliwack Coliseum will host games only on October 15.
The Showcase will bring together all 20 BCHL teams, each playing two regular season games over the span of five days. This format provides a prime opportunity for players to showcase their skills before NHL, NCAA, and other scouts. The event kicks off at 10 a.m. on October 12, with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks facing off against the Victoria Grizzlies. The opening day will also feature the Chilliwack Chiefs competing against the Okotoks Oilers.
In 2025, the Chilliwack Coliseum will host a total of four games. The previous year’s Showcase had a more balanced distribution, with the Abbotsford Centre hosting 11 games and the Chilliwack Coliseum accommodating 10. Notably, both games featuring the Chilliwack Chiefs this year will take place inside the Abbotsford Centre.
On October 14, fans can look forward to a highly anticipated match between the Brooks Bandits, the reigning Fred Page Cup champions, and the Powell River Kings at 4 p.m. The Bandits will also compete against the Prince George Spruce Kings in Chilliwack on October 15 at 4 p.m. The Showcase will conclude on October 16 at 7 p.m., with the Chiefs taking on the Spruce Grove Saints at the Abbotsford Centre.
Connor Ewert, the events manager for the BCHL, expressed enthusiasm for returning to the Fraser Valley, stating, “After the success of last year’s Showcase event, we are happy to be back in the Fraser Valley for the second year in a row. Hosting in Abbotsford and Chilliwack gives our players the opportunity to play in a professional setting, while also providing scouts with a comfortable and convenient viewing experience.” Ewert also acknowledged the financial support from the province of British Columbia, which has been instrumental in making the event possible.
With four games scheduled each day, the BCHL Showcase promises an exciting experience for both fans and scouts alike. The event not only highlights the talent within the league but also fosters community engagement in the local areas.
